A person of many names, places, and experiences. I was born in Pomona, a small town on the periphery of LA county that's teeming with artists, historic homes, antiques, entrepreneurs, and leftover props from the 2003 Cat and the Hat movie (look it up).
I had a childhood spent soaking up that environment: picking the brains of local artists, sketching my own B.K. Taylor Odd Rods, helping make short films, and trying to make my old Kia Soul fashionable. No creative endeavor was ever the same as the last for me.
Design for me started on 2013 iMacs, making logos from pen sketches, and figuring the rest out along the way. Those early projects built my portfolio and process, eventually leading me to a BFA in Communications Design at Syracuse University, where I developed my skills as a communicator, collaborator, and creative problem solver.
The first question I ask when any project starts is always: Who is this for; what's the cup we’re being asked to fill? Design becomes great when it comes from a true understanding of your audience whether they’re artists, entrepreneurs, Kia Soul owners, or something else.
So if you’ve got a story to tell, a new challenge, a role to fill, or a question about the story behind these nicknames, I’d love to talk about it.
