How to brew the perfect (solution), every time.
1. Define
What’s the problem we’re
being asked to solve?
At the start of any project, we ask: What are we making? Who’s it for? We have to know the ask before we brew the answer. Clarity here sets the tone for everything to come.
2. Immerse
Learning what fills more
than just our own cup.
A deep dive into the audience, the space, the culture, the needs of the client. Whether it’s watching films before branding one, breaking down a disposable camera, or having conversations with people with disabilties before designing a brand for them, we’re understandign this world we are designign for
3. Ideate
Mix, play, test—
see where the ideas go.
We explore names, logos, layouts, language—this is where creativity flows. We collect ingredients, test flavors, and start to see what this thing could be.
These are the sketches on the napkin, drawings in the corners of notebooks, words circled on a mindmap that can lead us to something great.
4. Apply
Turn the idea into
something tangible.
Where ideas take form—mockups, prototypes, packaging, and comp’d designs. Fonts are chosen, colors eyedropped, the product shaped and the message refined.
We’re filling the cup. It’s not done brewing, but it’s well on it’s way.
5. Repeat
Sample, adjust, and
rework until it’s balanced.
We’re not after “good enough.” So we test, refine, ask questions, and even go back to previous steps when we need to. The best things take time—and a few rounds to get just right.
6. Improvise
The secret’s in
what you don’t plan.
More often than not, things do not go to plan. That’s when we improvise — not out of panic, but out of possibility.
This can be asking a new question, doing crazy things to get the answer we need. No one moment is the same, but a splash of it at the right time can make magic.
6. Complete
The ask is answered,
enjoy the brew.
