Preserve & Protect
Looking out for the lookouts.
The Forst Fire Lookout Association has preserved historic lookout towers and promoted fire awareness since 1990, and with a new identity and approach to their conservation programs, the FFLA can attract a new generation, inviting new volunteers to restore fire lookouts in exchange for week-long stays.
+ Copywriting + Web Design
+ Motion + Direct Mail Marketing
Public interest in forest lookouts has surged in the past 10 years, revealing a growing desire to visit, rent, buy, and stay in these iconic structures.
The brands focus is on using preservation as incentive: in exchange for contributing towards lookout restoration projects, volunteers get opportunities to spend a week staying in these sought after towers.
At the center of the brand mark, a tree integrated into the lookout represents the importance growth and the hidden nature of forest fire lookouts.
Copy conveys the organizations purpose through a mix of matter-of-fact language and fun wordplay inspired by trail signage iconography.
